Volkswagen Beetle VW1200 Electrical Wiring System

 Volkswagen beetle was a great selling car with a nice fancy looking in 1950s. Both Volkswagen and Peugeot are German cars imported to Sri Lanka by "Car Mart". This company still remains   and The great still imports these two brands. The most outstanding innovation of Beetle car is Air Cooled Engine. No water needed for this car. Engine is mounted on back side of the car not like other conventional cars. Volkswagen used a horizontal oppose 4 cylinder engine for beetle 1200,1300 & 1303.



















The following wiring diagram is applicable for Volkswagen Beetle 1200 1958 and 1959 model years. Herein you will find detail illustration with colorful schematics of the electrical circuit and diagram of the vehicle. There is also list of the electrical components of the Beetle 1200 including battery, starting motor, generator, ignition starter switch, windshield wiper switch, horn, headlight dimmer switch, stop light switch, oil pressure switch, parking light, ignition distributor, ignition coil, spark plug connector for cylinder, fuse box, interior light, etc.

U1 – Direction Indicator, Left

V1 – Door Contact Switch, Left (d/L)
V2 – Door Contact Switch, Right (d/L)
W – Windshield Wiper Motor (d/L 3 connections)
X1 – Stop and Tail Light’ Left
X2 – Stop and Tail Light, Right
Y – Interior Light
Z – License Plate Light
